Create a Calendar
Step 1: Which Calendar would you like to create?

Step 2: Would you like to include the Letter Days?
Step 3: Customize your periods, if desired.

* If you would like to keep a period from appearing in the calendar you create, check off the box corresponding to the period you would like to skip.

** If you use the "Free/Busy" aspect of your calendar, you can use these checkboxes to mark specific periods as free (unchecked) or busy (checked).

Step 1: Create a New Calendar in Google
  1. Open up Google Calendar.
  2. Click on "Calendar Settings" in the upper right hand corner.
  3. Click on the "Calendar" tab.
  4. Click on "Create New Calendar".
  5. Enter a name for your calender (i.e. Fall 2010).
  6. IMPORTANT! Under Time Zone, make sure Eastern Time is selected. If you do not have the correct timezone selected, all of the times will be imported incorrectly.
  7. Click on "Create Calendar"
Step 2: Import the Calendar You Just Downloaded
  1. Click on "Calendar Settings" in the upper right hand corner.
  2. Click on the "Calendar" tab.
  3. Click on "Import Calendar".
  4. Choose the calendar file you just downloaded by clicking on the "Choose File" next to where is says "File:".
  5. VERY IMPORTANT! In the drop down box next to where is says "Calendar:", select the Google calendar you just created. Do not import your schedule calendar to your default calendar!
  6. Click on Import ONCE.
  7. WAIT! The import process can take up to 5 minutes or so. You should receive a message when it is completed confirming that all of the events were processed successfully. If you can not read the box (which occasionally happens), spot check to make sure all of your events were created. If you receive a message that says that some of your events were not created, delete the google calendar you just created and go back to Step 1. If you continue to have errors, see someone in the Tech office.

iCal Instructions
  1. Open the calendar file you just downloaded by double-clicking on it.
  2. In the option box that appears, choose which calendar (you can select a new one if you wish) you would like to add the schedule to.
  3. Click on "Ok".

Microsoft Outlook Instructions
  1. Launch Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Click on the "File" menu and then select "Import and Export".
  3. Select "Import an iCalendar or vCalendar file (.vcs)" and click on "Next".
  4. Select/Find the calendar file you just downloaded and click on "Ok".

    Please Note: These instructions were written for Microsoft Outlook 2003 running on Windows XP. They may differ if using a different version of Outlook and/or Windows.
