Black Mesa is a Real Life Example of a Mesa in Oklahoma
    A real example of a mesa is the Black Mesa. It is located in Kenten, Oklahoma on the pan handle. It got its name from the black lava rock that covered it 30 million years ago. It is the hightest point in Oklahoma. It stands 4,973 feet above sea level. It has neighboring buttes that may have once been part of the mesa.
