How a Mesa is Created
Mesas are created generally in the same way. When areas of the earth called plates move it causes some of the earth to go upwards. Next it is worn away by water. The water carries pieces of sediments that grind away at the mesa. Wind also erodes the mesa. The top of the mesa is hard. It does not erode as easily as the rest of the mesa. Mesas are formed over millions of years from the process of erosion.
