- A wasp's usual body length is
5 cm which is about 2 inches.
- You can find a wasp
underground, along banks, attached to walls or plants, and under
the floor eves of a house.
- Wasps are slightly bigger than
a honey bee.
- They have smooth
bodies.
- They have black heads and
thorax (middle segment of body) , and they have yellow and black
stripes on there abdomen.
- They often build there nests
in hedges, sheds, and roofs.
- Wasps often forage for food on
garden plants.
- Wasps eat insects.
- Adult wasps drink sweet
liquids, such as nectar.
- There are over 4,000 species
of wasps.
- Social wasps get there name
because they live in groups.
- You can tell the difference
between wasps by their body structure and the nest they build.
