Rose Quartz & Granite tombstone

The Dedham Granite and the Salem Diorite are the two rocks that make up the bedrock (bottom layer of rock) in Needham. We went to the cemetary to see samples of both grey and pink granite, and how they are used for making tombstones. The pink rock is pink quartz. It's actually a mineral, which means that it is made of the same material throughout. A rock is made of one or more minerals. Both granite and diorite are made of 3 minerals.
